The Caldwell County school board approved the calendar for the 2022-2023 school year during a special called meeting Wednesday afternoon.
Superintendent Jeremy Roach tells the News Edge that the first day of school for students will be August 29th, followed by fall, Christmas, and spring breaks, with the last day of school for students on May 19th.

In addition, the calendar includes a jump-start week for some students August 15-19.

The board approved the 2022-2023 school year calendar by a 4-1 vote, with board chair Tim Kennaday the lone no vote.
In other business, Roach said the board approved an engagement letter with Baird for the elementary school renovation project.

The next regularly scheduled school board meeting is Monday evening, April 18, at 6:00 in the auditorium at the Butler building.
