Princeton Optimist Club Makes Donation To Happy Feet Program

Optimist members George Kilgore, Shirley Gray and Stefanie Hicks are shown here making their donation to Happy Feet representative Virginia Holley.

The Princeton Optimist Club recently made a donation to the local Happy Feet Program as it continues to support the non-profit organization this year.
The Caldwell County Chapter of Happy Feet was launched in 2013 and local officials say it has been very successful. In 2021, Happy Feet distributed 467 pairs of shoes to children. This year, officials say they were also extremely lucky to have the funds available to distribute 100 pairs of shoes to help families in our area who lost their homes during the December 10th tornadoes, as well as purchasing shoes for the Special Olympic Basketball teams and cheerleaders.
Officials with the local chapter say their goal for the 2022 year is to raise $7,500 for the 2022-2023 school year, as they have seen a greater need than ever for our kids. They say with your help, they can make that happen.
Questions about Happy Feet or any donations for Caldwell County Happy Feet may be directed to Savannah Seymore at ABC Finance Company, P.O. Box 189, 430 US Highway 62 West, Princeton, KY 42245 or (270) 365-7444, or any committee member. All donations are tax-deductible and remain in Caldwell County.
Happy Feet Equals Learning Feet was started in 2009 by Jerry Baird, a retired coal miner from Union County who said a child’s physical and mental health was a priority of the program.
This is just one of the many groups and organizations the Princeton Optimist Club supports by providing donations. You can help give back to the community by making donations or placing bids during the upcoming Princeton Optimist Club and WPKY Radio Auction, June 13-17. It will be held at its new location, the Christian Life Center at Princeton First Baptist Church in downtown.
