With the threat of severe weather Wednesday, officials in Fredonia have announced two storm shelters will be open —Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 303 Cassidy Avenue, and First Baptist Church, located at 208 Cassidy Avenue.
Officials also said the city’s storm warning siren is currently not working. However, they offered a few ways to stay updated on any weather-related watches or warnings that may be issued. You can download a weather app that will sound alarms on your cellular device, watch your local weather and listen to WPKY.
In addition, officials also offered some other things you can do to be prepared for severe weather: Charge your cellular devices and keep them charged and put batteries in your flashlight; and, get you a bug-out bag together that includes some things you might need in case you have to run for shelter. You should also include in your bug-out bag any prescriptions you will need while at the shelter.
