The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced that a contractor plans to establish two work zones along KY 453/Dover Road in the Grand Rivers area of Livingston County starting Monday.
District 1 spokesman Keith Todd says the contractor plans bridge joint work, deck maintenance, and painting at the following locations on KY 453/Dover Road:
KY 453 Mile Point 0.418
KY 453 one-lane traffic on the Badgett Terminal Road and Railroad Overpass about 1/2-mile north of the KY 453 Canal Bridge – alternating flow controlled by an automated signal
KY 453 Mile Point 3.25
Northbound and southbound lane restriction on the 4-lane section at the Vulcan Reed Quarry Haul Road Overpass between U.S. 62 and I-24 Exit 31
According to Todd, work on the KY 453/Dover Road Badgett Terminal Road Overpass will impact traffic to and from the northern entrance to Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. He says each of these locations will have a maximum 12 ft. load width.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers and maintenance personnel are along the roadway near traffic flow.
Todd notes work on these bridges is expected to take about 45 days to complete.
Todd also says this contact includes bridge maintenance work on the KY 453 P&L Railroad Overpass at mile point 2.102 and the Vulcan Reed Quarry Haul Road/P&L Railroad Overpass at U.S. 62 mile point 1.034. He adds the work at these locations is expected to start when maintenance is completed at the first two locations.
