The City of Princeton emergency sirens will be firing monthly again with the first test held at noon Wednesday.
Caldwell County Emergency Manager Joey McCaslin says that the public needs to be aware that this is a test of the system, and it will be conducted on the final Wednesday of every month at noon to ensure that everything is working properly. In the event of potential severe weather, the test will not be conducted so that there’s no confusion caused to residents about whether it a test or an actual alert.
A few weeks ago, Fredonia officials announced that its siren system is not working properly and that parts have been ordered for repairs. McCaslin provided an update during Tuesday’s fiscal court meeting about the siren in Fredonia, and how residents will be alerted differently about impending weather.
