Eddyville Man Faces Multiple Charges After Reckless Driver Call

An Eddyville man faces multiple charges after he collided with a deputy’s patrol vehicle when law enforcement agencies made a traffic stop on a vehicle in connection to a call about a reckless driver on US 62 Tuesday night.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports deputies and officers with the Eddyville Police Department responded to the call around 10:30 p.m. He says Officer Shannon Oliver and Deputy Seth P’Pool located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near Gill Pike Road. The driver, later identified as 22-year old Daniel C. Nunez, pulled into the median rather than stopping on the side of the road. Deputy P’Pool reportedly pulled in front of Nunez’s vehicle for safety purposes while Officer Oliver pulled behind the vehicle. As Deputy P’Pool exited his vehicle, the report says Nunez accelerated and collided with the deputy’s patrol vehicle.
According to the report, Nunez was extremely intoxicated and arrested by Deputy P’Pool for DUI-1st offense, possession of marijuana and an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, obstructed vision/windshield, no operator’s license, and failure to wear a seat belt. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
Eddyville Police Officer Jordan Parrish investigated the collision involving Nunez and Deputy P’Pool’s vehicle.
