First Candidate Officially Files For Princeton Mayor

The first candidate to officially file to run for Princeton mayor threw his name in the hat this week.
Caldwell County Clerk Toni Watson tells the News Edge Edward Schmidt filed his paperwork on Tuesday seeking the mayor’s seat.
Former Caldwell County Judge-Executive Brock Thomas announced earlier this month on social media that he had decided to run for the mayor of Princeton, but he has not officially filed his paperwork at this time.
The deadline for candidates to file for the non-partisan races for the general election is June 7.
