A South Carolina man charged in connection to the death of his wife whose body was found in a Fredonia cemetery in the summer of 2020 appeared for a hearing in Caldwell County Circuit Court last week.
Rock Hill resident, Joseph Florentine is charged with murder and abuse of a corpse in the death of his wife, 36-year old Nichole Renee Florentine, also of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
During a pretrial conference last week, Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins says Florentine’s attorneys provided a couple of reports and the judge scheduled another hearing for next month.
click to download audioAccording to state police, detectives investigated a dead body found at the Hill Cemetery in Fredonia in June 2020 that was later identified as Florentine’s wife. He was arrested in Denver, Colorado on June 23, 2020 and extradited back to Kentucky. He remains lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
