A line of severe thunderstorms moved across western Kentucky Friday morning causing power outages across the region.
Officials with Kenergy reported at the peak of the outage there were 7,127 members without power. As of 2:00 Friday afternoon, officials with Kenergy indicated 2,377 members remained without power with no estimated time of restoration known at that time.
At the peak of the outage after the storms rolled through, Kenergy reported over 230 members in Caldwell County were without power, along with more than 870 members in Crittenden County, over 1,300 in Hopkins County and around 530 members in Webster County.
Pennyrile Electric also reported less than 40 outages at the peak of the storm in Caldwell and Lyon counties.
The line of storms prompted the National Weather Service to issue severe thunderstorm warnings in several counties across western Kentucky, including Caldwell and Lyon.
Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin told the News Edge that he had not received any reports of damages in the county, other than a couple of downed trees and low-hanging trees.
