Disturbance Call At Eddyville Store Leads To Drug Possession Charges

A disturbance at a store in Lyon County led to the arrest of an Owensboro man on drug possession and disorderly conduct charges.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports Deputy Keith Suits was called to assist the Eddyville Police Department at the Dollar General store around 6:00 Sunday night where Officer Jordan Parish had arrested 57-year old Darren B. Morris. Deputy Joe Witherspoon and his canine partner Kaos were requested at the scene. Kaos reportedly alerted to Morris’ car and during a search officers found methamphetamine, marijuana and other items of contraband in the vehicle.
Morris was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, public intoxication, possession of meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and possession of open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
