Caldwell County Welcomes New Ag Teacher And FFA Advisor


Caldwell County Public Schools is welcoming Parker Jennings as the new agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at the high school.
Jennings, who is a Marshall County native, graduated in May of 2022 from Murray State University with his teaching certification in Agriculture Education after completing his student teaching at the local high school. He lives in Benton with his wife after they were married on June 5th in Greece. He spent his own high school years very active in FFA and went on to serve as a state FFA officer. He made his decision to become an agriculture teacher during his senior year of high school.
He started his position as the Ag teacher and FFA advisor at the high school with a full week of activities and just returned from FFA Camp where he was introduced as the new advisor.


click to download audioHe acknowledged that his coming into this position was a tough situation for both him and the students. He was referring to the recent passing of longtime beloved Ag Teacher Wes York.


click to download audioFellow Ag Teacher Magen Wood added that Parker was here for the hardest times they went through. She said he saw and knows how difficult it was for everyone and he was what she and the ag students needed to move forward.


click to download audioShe said Parker has a similar personality as York and he has been at the school through the good and bad times.


click to download audioJennings shared he wanted to thank the community for the warm welcome and the positive attitude everyone has shown to him because it makes it easier as he starts this position.
There will be a “Meet the Teacher” reception in the Ag Department on Tuesday afternoon, August 9th, at 5:00 for everyone to stop by and get to know Parker and introduce yourself to him.
