Caldwell County could be switching to a new emergency alert notification system soon.
Caldwell County Fiscal Court will consider taking action on the Hyper-Reach Alert System at Tuesday’s meeting that — if approved — will replace the CodeRed Alert System currently used by the county.
Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin told magistrates at the last fiscal court meeting earlier this month that he has received the Hyper-Reach agreement and it will save the county about $2,500 a year compared to what they are currently paying for CodeRed.

According to McCaslin, the agreement contract with CodeRed expires on October 1st. He says if they start the Hyper-Reach agreement in August and September this will also allow time for thousands of residents to register with the new alert notification system.
