First Lady Beshear Distributes Gifts To Caldwell Kids Impacted By Tornado (w/PHOTOS)


Kentucky First Lady Britainy Beshear made a stop in Princeton Monday morning to distribute gifts, shoes and school supplies to children in Caldwell County who were impacted by the December tornadoes.
Stephanie Burton, a case manager with the Caldwell County Long Term Recovery Group welcomed the crowd of families to the Team Kentucky Summer Celebration. She noted that all of the school supplies, gifts, shoes and food were donated for the event. She then introduced First Lady Beshear who also thanked everyone involved with the Summer Celebration and those who helped in the aftermath of the tornado.

click to download audioThe First Lady noted that the toy drive was organized after the tornado hit western Kentucky right before Christmas, which also brought out the goodwill of others.

click to download audioA number of families affected by the tornado were on hand at the event where the First Lady distribute items to local children. The event was held at the Princeton Golf Club on South Jefferson Street from 10:00 until noon Monday.
