Princeton City Council Approves Surveying Bid


Princeton City Council approved a bid for the police department furnishing and a surveying bid for plots of property impacted by the December tornado.
In unfinished business during Monday night’s meeting, the council approved the only bid for surveying which Mayor Kota Young said was submitted by Knoth Surveying & Design.


click to download audioHe explained action by the city council is required by the state to hopefully receive funding from the money set aside for communities impacted by the tornado in west Kentucky. He added that these individuals who have a lot that has been surveyed or needs to be surveyed need to contact City Hall this week.


click to download audioHe further explained that the bid amounts would set the maximum for surveys, if approved by the state, for reimbursement.

He encourages anyone who needs to re-survey their lot to reach out to city hall.


click to download audioIn other unfinished business, the mayor said the city received one bid for the police department furnishing from Petter Business Systems which came in approximately $15,000 under what they had budgeted.


click to download audioIn addition to approving the two bids, the council approved the reappointments of Geneva Malone, Carl Copeland, and Dwight Martin to the Dotson Park Board with a term to expire May 1, 2026.
During the mayor’s comments, he remarked about the First Lady’s visit to Princeton and reminded residents about Dotson Days.
