A search of a home in Providence netted the arrest of a woman on multiple charges after police reported they found drugs in a home.
Providence Police Chief Todd Jones, Officer Eric Elder, Sergeant Carl Scheer, and Webster County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Russelburg executed a search warrant around 12:15 Thursday morning at 811 South Finley Street.
Inside the residence, police reportedly discovered 31-year old Namita Clarice Dawn Brown and two children ages 5 and 2. According to police, officers found syringes, meth, smoking devices and a variety of other drug paraphernalia in the bedroom where Brown and her children slept.
Brown was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) 2nd offense, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and first-degree wanton endangerment. She was lodged in the Webster County Jail.
Police reported Social Services were notified and responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and find suitable placement for the children.
Providence Police also indicate warrants for a second subject will be obtained as a result of drugs and paraphernalia being found in a separate part of the residence along with evidence suggesting the drugs found belonged to the male subject.
