The Webster County Sheriff has been indicted on misdemeanor and felony charges.
Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced Wednesday that action by his Special Prosecutions Unit resulted in the indictment of Webster County Sheriff, 57-year old Donald Jones, of Sebree, for official misconduct and tampering with a witness.
On August 10, Jones was indicted by a Webster County grand jury on one count of first-degree official misconduct, a Class A Misdemeanor, and one count of tampering with a witness, a Class D Felony.
Detective Herman Hall reportedly investigated the case on behalf of the Attorney General’s Office. Assistant Attorney General Barbara Whaley presented the case before the Webster County Grand Jury on behalf of the Commonwealth.
No other information about the charges has been released.
