Livingston County Fiscal Court has been awarded county road aid emergency funds from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
District 1 spokesman Keith Todd of the transportation cabinet says Livingston County Fiscal Court was awarded $61,500 to assist with erosion repairs to the Deer Creek Bridge on Mitchell Road, just southeast of the Nelson Road intersection. He says the emergency funding will allow the replacement of sheet piling that protected the bridge and assist with repairs to the end of the bridge.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Division of Rural and Municipal Aid preserves a portion of city and county road funds to help cover such emergencies. Todd indicates a check will be issued directly to Livingston County Fiscal Court which will be responsible for supervising and completing the work.
