Organizers of the Black Patch Heritage Festival have released some new directions that will help with traffic flow for the parade Friday afternoon.
Princeton Optimist Club President George Kilgore says no one will be allowed on the Butler Parking lot unless the vehicle is actually being placed in the Black Patch Parade. If you are dropping off someone to participate in the parade, he says there will be a drop-off site on Darby Street at the entrance to the soccer field. Drop-offs will enter the soccer field complex and meet with their teams and enter the parking lot through the exit by the Butler building. He says all team coaches and sponsors need to park off-site and walk to the parking lot.
In addition, Kilgore says all classic vehicles and tractors will be setting up and staging on Plum Street between Washington and Main streets. You can enter from the Washington Street end of Plum Street and then go directly to Plum Street instead of the Butler parking lot.
According to Kilgore, all horses and horse-drawn entries need to come to the grassy area by the basketball courts and should not come to the Butler parking lot. He adds this will be easier for the horses and away from people walking around the animals.
Kilgore says they feel these changes will help with safety for everyone involved in the Black Patch Festival Parade that begins at 5:00 Friday afternoon.
