An Elkton man was taken to the hospital after a commercial truck overturned on KY 91/Marion Road in Caldwell County Monday morning.
Sheriff Chris Noel reports deputies responded to the 14-mile marker on Marion Road shortly after 9:30 in reference to an overturned box truck with possible injuries.
An investigation by Deputy Evan Head determined the wreck occurred when 37-year old David McClure was traveling north on Marion Road when, for unknown reasons, the Hampton Meats box truck he was driving ran off the shoulder of the roadway. McClure then overcorrected which caused the truck to cross the center line and leave the roadway where it overturned and came to rest against a large tree.
McClure was reportedly extricated from the vehicle by the Caldwell County Fire Department and transported from the scene by Caldwell County EMS to Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville for what Deputy Head said were non-life threatening injuries.
Deputy Head was assisted on the scene by Caldwell EMS, Stinnet Towing, Caldwell County Fire Department, Sheriff Chris Noel, Caldwell County Health Department and the state highway department.
