Two Washington men were arrested for drug trafficking after a traffic stop in Lyon County.
According to state police, troopers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 24 in Livingston County around 11:00 Tuesday morning and stopped the vehicle in Lyon County.
After troopers were granted consent to search the vehicle, they reportedly found approximately one pound of cocaine, a 9mm pistol, and a large amount of cash.
25-year old Pedro Samario Irais Lopez and 31-year old Ever Jasiel Lopez Escoto, both of Shoreline, Washington, were taken into custody and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Lopez was also charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance greater or equal to 4 grams of cocaine – firearm enhanced and carrying a concealed weapon. Escoto was additionally charged with complicity to first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance greater or equal to 4 grams of cocaine.
Both men were lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
