Agriculture Shop — Hands on Experience


The Caldwell County High School Agriculture Department Shop recently received a donation that will serve multiple purposes for the students.
Agriculture teacher Parker Jennings explained the donation and how students will learn from hands-on experience and also serve as a fundraiser for the Agriculture program.


click to download audioSenior Graydon Miller has been in the Ag Department for 4 years and shared it was good to be able to take things they had been taught in the classroom and actually put those into action in the shop and see the results.

Ericka Sanders is a sophomore at the high school and lives on a farm and is excited to learn how to do new things.

Sanders shared there are many females involved in the shop class and the shop offers resources that that benefit everyone. She encourages students to try new things and learn different skills.


click to download audioCollin Teutsch is a Senior and has been involved in Agriculture courses for several years. Before moving to Caldwell County he was part of the Ag program in Virginia where they offered middle school Ag classes. He said they are working to refurnish the pews and to also shorten them to hopefully attract more people to be interested in buying them.


click to download audioTeutsch said he has participated in other shop projects in the past and they give experience and training that you can take with you into the working world after graduation.
