Lyon Sheriff’s Office Welcomes Two New Deputies

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has added two new deputies. Sheriff Brent White announced on social media that Deputy David Carroll and Deputy Court Security Officer Elijah Thorp were both administered the oath of office Wednesday by Chief Circuit Judge Jamus Redd.
According to Sheriff White, both deputies are Lyon County residents and bring a tremendous amount of experience to the sheriff’s department.
He says Deputy Carroll is a certified officer previously employed by the Paducah Police Department and recently with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He will be assigned to the Operations Division as a patrol deputy.
Deputy CSO Elijah Thorp is retired from the Kentucky Department of Corrections and is also employed with the security division of Mercy Health Systems. He will be assigned to the Court Security Division.
Sheriff White says they are happy to have both men join their family and he wishes them the best as they serve Lyon County.
