Fire Chief Asks Residents To Refrain From Burning Outdoors

Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis is asking residents in Caldwell County to refrain from burning anything outdoors at this time due to the dry conditions.
He informed the city council Monday night that currently there is not a burn ban in place for Caldwell County.

click to download audioHe noted the state’s Fall Fire Season began Saturday.


click to download audioThe fall fire season runs from October 1 through December 15 and again next February 15 to April 30. During this time, state law makes it illegal for anyone to start a fire within 150 feet of any woods or brushline between the hours of 6am to 6pm. After 6pm, a fire should only be started if the conditions are suitable to keep it under control.
