A bicyclist was transported to the hospital after she was hit by a van in Madisonville Thursday afternoon.
Around 2:15 p.m., Madisonville Police say officers responded to 342 South Main Street regarding a collision with injuries involving a vehicle and bicycle.
Upon arrival, officers say the bicyclist 26-year old Chloe Coyer was seen laying on the sidewalk receiving first aid from the Madisonville Fire Department. Officers determined after speaking to the driver, 49-year old Chris Wheeler of Madisonville that he was leaving the parking lot of Car Mart and looked both ways when he moved forward into the sidewalk area and collided with the bicycle.
Coyer was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville for treatment of injuries.
