Search Warrant At Providence Home Leads To Two Drug Arrests

Two men were arrested after officers reportedly found multiple drugs when they executed a search warrant at a residence in Providence Monday afternoon.
Officers from the Providence Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, and Clay Police Department executed a search warrant at 308 Jefferson Street in Providence around 3:30 p.m. Officers located 60-year old Johnny Belt and 64-year old Bobby Ray Carter at the home along with a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana, Hydrocodone, and a variety of drug paraphernalia.
Police report Belt and Carter were taken into custody and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance – 3rd or greater offense (methamphetamine), first-degree possession of a controlled substance – 3rd or greater offense (Opiates), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men were lodged in the Webster County Jail.
According to Providence Police, Belt has an extensive history including multiple drug possession convictions, three trafficking drug convictions, and a variety of other criminal convictions for aggravated assault, DUI, fleeing police, theft, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police indicate Carter has multiple drug possession convictions, DUIs, thefts, as well as a variety of misdemeanor and traffic-related convictions.
