Brownfields Cleanup Grant Public Information Meeting Wednesday

The Caldwell County Board of Education is holding a public meeting this week to inform the community of the district’s intent to apply for an EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant.
Public Relations Coordinator Lizzie Shelton says the Brownfields Cleanup Grant would fund the removal of hazardous building materials from the Butler Annex Building, which has not been used in several years due to the hazardous materials.
She says the information meeting is open and accessible to all community members. Shelton notes the meeting will include a time for public comments and questions. Individuals requesting special accommodations can contact the Caldwell County Board of Education at (270) 365-8000.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, October 19, at 1:00 in the Butler Auditorium, located at 612 Washington Street in Princeton.
A copy of the grant applications, including the draft Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) is available for public review and comment at the superintendent’s office at the board of education or contact Tammie Sanders at (270) 365-8046.
Shelton says comments or questions on the draft application can be submitted to Tammie Sanders at tammie.sanders@caldwell.kyschools.us.
