Princeton City Council heard the first reading of an ordinance establishing an official summary index of city-maintained roadways and the mayor announced the details for the annual Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt.
At Monday night’s meeting, Mayor Kota Young said the index summary of the streets would be beneficial for future administrations.
click to download audioThe index establishes 28 alleys, 185 streets and 2 cemeteries as the official street system for the City of Princeton.
The second reading of the ordinance will be during the November city council meeting.
In other new business, Linda Johnson Higgins presented a Trail of Tears Proclamation to the mayor for his signature declaring November Native-American Month.
During the mayor’s report, Young said the burial service contract was advertised this past Saturday and bids would be accepted until Monday, October 24th.
Mayor Young also said the 3rd annual Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt will be in downtown on Monday, October 31st from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In other reports, Councilman Jim Joiner provided an update from the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport Board. He said a final walk-thru with J & J Contractors was last Friday with several areas of corrections before the final payment is remitted.
