Retired School Teacher Recognition Week


October 16 – 22 is Retired School Teachers Recognition Week in Kentucky and everyone is encouraged to show their appreciation to these special people who played such an important part in their lives.
The Caldwell County Retired School Teachers Association has over 50 members and Vice President Susan Meadows shared that even though they are retired they are still active in the community.

click to download audioMeadows added that retired teachers did not have to teach in Caldwell County to join. They are looking for new members and she encourages recent retirees to check them out.


click to download audioMeadows spent 27 years teaching preschool in the local system. She shared how she got interested in teaching and the reward she experienced from her time in education.


click to download audioMeadows shared that retired teachers loved to hear from former students. She encouraged any of those students to catch up with them and let them know how they are doing.
