Caldwell County-Wide Burn Ban Rescinded

With some much-needed rain falling across the area over the weekend, Caldwell County officials have announced the county-wide burn ban has been lifted by the Department of U.S. Forestry Service and Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis.
Due to the recent dry conditions and the extreme danger of wildfires in Caldwell County, Judge-Executive Larry Curlin issued the county-wide outdoor burn ban on October 13th by executive order. On Sunday, Caldwell County received about four-tenths of an inch of rain.
Officials remind people that the fall fire season continues through December 15 and again next February 15 to April 30. During this time, state law makes it illegal for anyone to start a fire within 150 feet of any woods or brush line between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm. After 6 pm, a fire should only be started if the conditions are suitable to keep it under control.
