Anyone interested in joining the basketball team or becoming a cheerleader for the team is invited to show up and get started for the season. They are also looking for help in coaching the basketball players and cheerleaders, which she noted is a simple process if you would like to get involved.

Purcell thanked Laura Hillerich, Lisa Hawkins, Jared Nelson and Roy Gene Rogers for their continued help with the Special Olympics programs. She also says she appreciates the community’s support over the years to keep this program successful.
The Caldwell County Special Olympics is a part of the state program and Purcell said the Caldwell County School District and elementary school principal Malissa Thomas have been instrumental in keeping their program operating.
