Walker Thomas will serve a fourth term in Frankfort from the newly-drawn 8th District after defeating Democratic challenger Pam Dossett with nearly 68-percent of the vote.
This district was redrawn in the 2022 General Assembly and now includes all of Caldwell County, 18 of Christian County’s 41 precincts, and seven of Trigg County’s 15 precincts.
Thomas carried Christian County for the first time with a winning margin of 1,670 votes (4,191-2,521) over Dossett. Voters in both Caldwell County and Trigg County also voted for the former Hopkinsville city councilman by a wide margin. In Caldwell County, he won by 2,287 votes (3,458-1,171). In Trigg County, the margin was 1,139 votes (1,924-785).
Thomas says Caldwell County will be a primary focus for him in the coming months.

Thomas said had the state approved Amendment 1 to the constitution that would have allowed the state legislature to call themselves into session, it would have been beneficial to all parts of the state.
In 2020, Thomas defeated Democrat Pam Dossett by 1,280 votes. Thomas won Trigg County by 1,295 votes and Dossett won Christian County by 15 votes
