A graduate of Caldwell County High School was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Indiana over the weekend.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office told media in the area that the fatal wreck occurred Saturday when 32-year old Mitchell Fitzgerald of Owensboro was traveling northbound on Interstate 69 and traveled into the left lane to pass another vehicle. He reportedly lost control of his vehicle due to road conditions, causing it to hit a guardrail, travel over an embankment and flip over onto its top.
According to Fitzgerald’s obituary from Morgan’s Funeral Home, he was a graduate of Caldwell County High School and worked in the Operations Department at CRS OneSource in Owensboro as a driver and trainer for new drivers.
