A Princeton man being sought after he ran from officers during a drug bust last week is in custody after he turned himself in at the local police department.
Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison says 22-year old Jameer Riley was arrested at the Princeton Police Department shortly after 5:00 Monday afternoon.
Riley was wanted after an anonymous tip about drug activity led to the search of a residence on Citizens Court in which police reportedly seized processed marijuana, mushroom edibles, marijuana edibles, and marijuana vaping cartridges with a street value of $500,000. Police also said they seized $68,000 in cash and firearms.
Chief Chris King reported last week that Riley ran after he was confronted by police conducting surveillance at the home when they observed a vehicle pull up to the residence and Riley exit the home. He said Riley placed a box in the car that officers later found contained 30 pounds of processed marijuana.
Riley was charged with trafficking in marijuana over 5 pounds firearm enhanced 1st offense, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance hallucinogen 1st offense, second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Caldwell County Jail.
