Law enforcement says a woman was arrested on several charges including DUI and assault after a complaint about an intoxicated driver in Kuttawa last week.
According to Lyon County Sheriff Brent White, he responded to the call shortly before noon Tuesday, November 22, and located the van at a motel in Kuttawa. He says the female, identified as Sylvia M. Curtiss, was still behind the wheel with the engine running and believed she was in Ballard County at the time of the stop.
Curtis was taken into custody by Sheriff White and charged with DUI. He says during the arrest she became disorderly and fought with law enforcement. She was also charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, two counts of third-degree assault, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, and operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license. She was booked into the Crittenden County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
