Main Street In Downtown Marion Will Be Blocked For Christmas Parade Saturday

The City of Marion plans to close U.S. 60/Main Street through the downtown area for the annual Christmas Parade this Saturday.
District 1 spokesman Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the parade will run along U.S. 60/Main Street starting at the U.S. 641 intersection at Crittenden County near mile point 9 extending northward along Main Street through the downtown area to First Street, a distance of about 1/4th of a mile.
The Christmas Parade will start at 5:00 Saturday afternoon and is expected to last approximately one hour.
Todd indicates the Marion Police Department, Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department, and rescue squad personnel will be providing traffic control during the event.
He says passenger vehicles may self-detour via side streets. However, he points out there is no practical detour for commercial trucks.
