Local teen Noah Peake recently returned from competing in the 4-H National Livestock Judging Contest.
The road to this achievement began in March when he started practicing judging cows, sheep, goats and pigs for the local team. The result of the state contest allowed Peake to qualify to serve on the Kentucky State Judging Team.

click to download audioPeake continued to be part of the team as it was trimmed down to 8 members and then on to the final 4 to remain to compete in the national contest.
click to download audioThe national contest didn’t bring the results he and fellow team member Lilly P’Pool from Trigg County had hoped for but the experiences he gained were far more important to him.
click to download audioPeake started in 4-H in 4th grade and encourages others to get involved in either 4-H or FFA early and experience what each of these groups has to offer.

click to download audioPeake has finished his career as a student in the 4-H program and plans to continue to be active as a leader in the future. He thanks his coach Kevin Laurent for his training in judging. The 19-year-old is a student at Madisonville and plans to attend Murray State next fall and hopefully be a part of the Judging Team there.
