Three Charged With Trafficking Meth In Providence

A man and two women were arrested for trafficking meth in Providence over the weekend.
According to Providence Police, Sergeant Eric Elder and Deputy Brian Russelburg observed a suspicious vehicle off Bellville Road at the Old Providence City Lake around 11:30 Saturday night. Police say they found 52-year old Tyffani Stone of Hanson, 32-year old Frances Teem of Paris, Tennessee, and 45-year old Brian Newton of Dresden, Tennessee inside the vehicle, along with a mirror with suspected meth residue in plain view.
A vehicle search reportedly revealed multiple baggies of suspected methamphetamine, empty baggies, numerous syringes, marijuana and cash.

Police say the individuals told them that they were homeless and all three were living in the vehicle.
All three individuals were taken into custody and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance over 2 grams of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. Stone was additionally charged with operating a vehicle with expired operator’s license. Newton was also charged with first-degree promoting contraband after police say a search at the jail revealed additional contraband that he was trying to bring into the facility.
