The Princeton City-County Park Board discussed repairs and renovations at the softball field at a recent meeting.
Board Chair Kota Young said they should hear something soon about a $250,000 grant from the Land Water Conservation Fund for the softball repair renovations.
click to download audioAfter checking around for anyone in the local area that does fencing, Chad Childress said he found Alliance Roofing and Fencing in Henderson who will be getting estimates to him soon.
click to download audioHe said the company will be sending bids for coated and galvanized fencing.
click to download audioYoung said changing out the fencing would be a massive improvement with Childress adding that the contractor is going to try and reutilize some of the materials.
click to download audioIn addition, it was pointed out during the discussion that the board also needs to consider doing something with the light poles at the fields that are rotting near the top. Young said they would know more about what they could do when they hear about the grant.
click to download audioChildress also said he has been in contact with Dwight Meeks who gave him a telephone number to a gentleman in Tennessee about providing some dirt for the fields.
click to download audioYoung added it will be interesting to see the estimates for the project. He also said the projects at the City-County Park are exciting and it will be a different-looking park when the repairs and renovations are completed.
