Caldwell Grand Jury Returns Drug Possession And DUI Related Indictments

The Caldwell County Grand Jury returned several indictments from its Friday session related to drug possession and DUI-related charges.
24-year old Donetrius D. Matchen and 20-year old Ethan W. Rickard, both of Princeton, were both indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, complicity.
The grand jury returned a no true bill on Matchen which means they did not find enough evidence to charge him with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
A no-true bill was also returned on Rickard regarding charges of careless driving and no tail lamps.
Matchen and Rickard were arrested on the charges in September after an investigation by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office after deputies conducted a traffic stop of a truck pulling a trailer with no lights.
A true bill was returned on 22-year old Hunter Levi Hallum, of Princeton, on multiple charges including driving on a DUI suspended license, first-degree promoting contraband, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
The charges stem from September when Hallum was stopped on East Legion Drive by Princeton Police because officers reportedly knew his driver’s license was suspended. During the stop, police said Hallum was also found in possession of meth.
42-year old Patrick S. Adams, of Princeton, was indicted on charges of possession of marijuana, first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Adams was taken into custody by Princeton Police in October after law enforcement received an anonymous tip that he was wanted on multiple warrants and was staying at the Stratton Inn on Marion Road. When officers made contact with Adams, they could reportedly smell marijuana coming from the room. During a search of the room, police said they found a quantity of marijuana, meth, and a shotgun.
According to Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison, Adams was served the Caldwell County Indictment Warrant at the local jail around 7:15 Tuesday morning.
And the grand jury indicted 49-year old Larry D. Currie, Jr., of Madison, Tennessee, on charges of DUI – 3rd offense aggravating circumstances. No information about what led to the charges has been released by local law enforcement.
