The Princeton City/County Park Board approved bids for the repair and renovation of the swimming pool and kiddie pool at a special called meeting Thursday afternoon.
Mayor and board chair Kota Young said they received one bid from contractor and owner of Aquatic Designs in Paducah, Joshua Overly, who provided details of what work would be required to renovate the large swimming pool.

Board member Roy Gene Rogers asked for clarification on the contract terms and conditions of no provisions or price adjustments with Overly saying he doesn’t foresee any changes unless it is requested by the board.

After fielding some questions from board members, Overly noted he will be using two local sub-contractors to do the work and that he has experience working with the health department and state regulations for the project.
click to download audioOverly also submitted a bid of $263,471 and shared his plan to replace the kiddie pool with a splash pad that will be ADA accessible.
click to download audioHe added all of the water features associated with the splash pad come with a 25-year warranty and the filtration equipment has a 3-year warranty.
Overly said he would also be available for any future painting or maintenance needed on the swimming pool and splash pad.
With his bids, Overly also submitted a completion day of both projects by April 15, which means the swimming pool and splash pad should be open for the 2023 pool season. The large pool and kiddie pool were closed for the 2022 season due to safety concerns.
