Officials in Caldwell County and Lyon County are advising residents to stay at home Friday due to road conditions and the extremely cold temperatures.
Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin tells the News Edge county roads are passable with no drifting reported. He says if you have to be out on the roads, just take your time but he also advises residents to not get out unless it’s necessary. He said you definitely don’t need to be after dark unless it is absolutely necessary.
In addition, McCaslin said a few minor power outages have been reported in Caldwell County but nothing widespread.
Princeton Public Works Director David Sullenger says road conditions won’t improve much today in the city due to the cold temperature. He also advises residents to not get out unless is it necessary.

click to download audioAccording to Sheriff White, they also had multiple slide-offs and minor collisions in the county since last night, along with a significant power outage in the southern portion of the county. He says most of those outages have been restored but there are still some customers without power.
