The Caldwell County Long-Term Recovery Group elected a new chair and vice-chair at a special called meeting Thursday evening at the Princeton Tourist Welcome Center.
At the previous LTRG meeting, Chair Kota Young announced that his term as mayor and Vice-Chair Larry Curling’s term as judge-executive were coming to an end. He noted that after a discussion between the two and the adoption of the new By-Laws, they both were stepping aside from their executive roles at the end of this year.
At Thursday night’s meeting, members elected Shane Fortner as chair of the long-term recovery group and Lucinda Gray as vice-chair.
The long-term recovery group currently does not have a secretary/treasurer, which still remains open after no one volunteered or declined to take the position when the time came to nominate a member. It was decided to table electing a secretary/treasurer until the next meeting in January.
