Drivers on Kentucky 139 South/Cadiz Road had to find another route to get to their destination Thursday night after a portion of the road was closed for several hours.
Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 2 reported around 7:00 that Cadiz Road was closed near Blue Springs just north of the Interstate 24 ramps due to a “utility issue.”
Around 5:15 Thursday evening, according to emergency personnel, a caller reported a utility pole was on fire in that area as Pennyrile Electric officials reported over 300 customers were affected by an outage. Officials with the electric company said crews had been sent to the area to replace a utility pole.
According to KYTC officials, Cadiz Road reopened to traffic around 11:00 p.m.
