Knights of Columbus to Host Free Throw Competition This Weekend

The Knights of Columbus will hold their annual free throw competition this weekend in Dawson Springs.
George Barber with Knights of Columbus says the free competition will be held this Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at Dawson Springs High School gym. Barber says area children ages 9-14 are welcome and encouraged to participate, regardless of skill level or the county they reside. Participants will compete against other kids their age and gender, with 12 total groups competing. Goal and ball size adjustments will be made accordingly per division.
Winners from this competition will come back in February for the district competition, then can move on to the regional, state, and international competitions. The first few steps of the ladder will all be held locally at Dawson Springs High School Gym making it perfect for regional athletes. The event is free through the international tournament.
Registration for this weekend’s competition is provided at the event and accommodations can be made for time conflicts.
Barber said volunteers, as always, are welcome, with plenty of opportunities to serve at each of the tournaments.
