Princeton City Council declared two city trucks as surplus and approved two appointments to boards and the appointment of a Chaplain at Tuesday night’s meeting.
Public Works Director David Sullenger requested the council approve two trucks as surplus – a 2005 Chevrolet truck along with a Dodge truck.

In other new business, the council approved a resolution of street designations after City Clerk Julie Poole explained the Department of Transportation needed a different form than the one previously adopted in December by the council.

The council also approved appointments to the City-County Park Board, Princeton Tourism, and a Chaplain for the City of Princeton as recommended by Mayor Brock Thomas.
click to download audioIn unfinished business, the second reading of the amended transient room tax ordinance was approved by a 5-0 vote with Morgan Rousseau absent from the meeting.
During the mayor’s comments, Thomas said the Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration at Central Presbyterian Church on Monday was a blessing and thanked Councilwoman Pat George, who was on the organizing committee, for helping plan the event.
