Caldwell’s Gifted And Talented Program Collecting ‘Caps For A Cause’

The Gifted and Talented program at Caldwell County Schools is collecting donations to help rebuild the community park in Dawson Springs that was destroyed in the December 2021 tornadoes.
According to Lizzie Shelton, public relations and community engagement coordinator, students can bring plastic caps and lids with recycling numbers 2, 4, or 5. She says donations will be collected during homeroom at the primary and elementary schools.
In addition, Shelton says a donation box will be located in the cafeteria at both the middle and high schools, with a community donation box located at the Board of Education.
The tops and caps will be used to make park benches and picnic tables as part of the revitalization efforts at the Dawson Springs Park.
The Caldwell County schools will be collecting donations through January.
