Caldwell County Schools announced Monday that middle school seventh-grade science teacher Melinda Smith has been selected as the Challenger Learning Center’s Outstanding Educator.
According to Public Relations Coordinator Lizzie Shelton, Smith will officially be recognized at the Regional Educators Award event on March 30 at West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC).
The awards — the brainchild of WKCTC President Anton Reece — recognize pre-K-12 teachers, administrators, and staff’s critical role in their communities and society.
In a news release from WKCTC, Reece said, “Each of these nominees should be honored that someone took the time to nominate them.” She went on to say they “know that all educators, administrators and support staff do an excellent job for the students in our region, and they deserve to be recognized.”
