A Princeton resident was arrested for possessing drugs after a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison says officers stopped a vehicle for having expired plates at the intersection of Locust and North Jefferson streets shortly after 3:00. Upon contact with the driver, 38-year old Kamisha Lane, officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, officers reportedly found Lane in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
Lane was taken into custody and charged with expired plates, no insurance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance 1st offense – methamphetamine.
