Caldwell-Lyon Basketball Rivalry Lives On


The rivalry between Caldwell and Lyon Counties in basketball has been a well-known fact for decades. There were some thoughts as Caldwell moved into the 7th District that rivalry might die down but the action Saturday night proved that it is still alive and well.
The gym was filled with fans on both sides with the feeling of excitement mounting and as the game began the gym erupted with cheers, emotion, and extreme support from each team.
Some former players and coaches from both sides shared some of their memories of the rivalry between the two teams, including Robin Scott who was the head boys’ basketball coach for many years.
