At Monday night’s meeting, Princeton City Council heard an update on the swimming pool renovation project and unanimously approved two bids for trucks that were declared surplus at the last meeting.
During the mayor’s report, Brock Thomas reported the City-County Park swimming pool project is progressing ahead of schedule.
click to download audioJoshua Overly of Aquatic Designs in Paducah is renovating the large swimming pool at a cost of $97,500 and replacing the kiddie pool with a splash pad for $263,471. He previously told the City-County Park Board that if the project could start in January, it would be completed by spring in time for the pool to open.
Thomas also expressed his gratitude for the efforts of city employees during the winter storm last week.
click to download audioIn unfinished business, Mayor Thomas said they had received 5 bids for a 1994 Dodge Dakota pickup truck and four bids for a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The city council unanimously approved the mayor’s recommendation to accept the high bids from John Hagan in the amount of $800 for the Dodge truck and $5,100 for the Chevrolet truck.
In new business, the city council unanimously approved five appointments to the Princeton Ethics Board: Wayne McGowan, Cresta Woford, Chris Cochran, Dane Hodges, and Kayla Thomas. McGowan and Woford will serve a term to expire on July 16, 2023. Cochran’s term will expire July 16, 2024, while Hodges will serve a term to expire July 16, 2025, and Thomas’s term will expire July 16, 2026.
City Council also heard committee and department reports at Monday night’s meeting.
